Muktinath
Muktinath is the famous pilgrimage spot where both Hindus and Buddhists come to worship. Mukti means salvation & Nath means the God, thus the Meaning of Muktinath becomes the God of Salvation. Hindus believe it as a scared place of salvation, if they took a bath in the Muktinath waters, the God will grant salvation after death. Buddhists  believe the place to be the  meditation point for the  great sage Guru Rinpochhe.

Muktinath is also a famous trekking destination in the Annapurna region. Central Nepal is dominated by the Annapurna Himal and the village of Pokhara. There are three major trekking routes in central Nepal: to Jomsom, to Annapurna Sanctuary, and a circuit of the Annapurna Himal itself. About two-thirds of the trekkers in Nepal visit the Annapurna region. The area is easily accessible, hotels in the hills are plentiful, and treks here offer good scenery of both high mountains and lowland villages.

You’ll find some fossilized stones in the Kaligandaki Valley known as saligrams in Nepal & India. Hindus & Bhuddishts consider the Saligrams as sacred & worship the stone as the incarnation of Hindu God Visnu. You will find these saligram stones scattered all along the upper reaches of the kaligandaki valley. There is also what the locals call the eternal flame that probably come from a natural gas source underground.

Muktinath lies north of Pokhara in the Annapurna Region. This is the most popular trekking destination of Nepal which attracts many trekkers. The scenery and culture of this trek is remarkable.  The trails take you along the Kaligandaki River between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massif and to the desert like Tibetan plateau. The lodges at Muktinath offer you a chance to encounter with local people and know their unique culture and ancient tradition that they are practicing even today. The trek can be done by anyone having moderate level of fitness.
