Imja-tse Peak
Since the the Imja-Tse is surrounded by a large mass of ice, the peak also became popular as the Island Peak.  The peak lies in the Khumbu Range on the Everest region with a height of 6183 meters. This is one of the most attempted peak during the busy season of October to November. Some of the well experienced and well acclimatized expedition teams manage to summit the peak and return to the base camp same day.  However, a successful attempt requires a careful planning and sufficient acclimatization for this challenging peak.

As the last part of the ascent near the summit is very steep, it’s preferable to establish a High-Camp for the safe ascent to the peak. From the base camp the route skirts south east around and base of Imja-Tse and climbs steep grassy slopes and small rocky steps. The region is prone to heavy snow fall & avalanche during a bad weather.
