Art and Architecture
Nepal is not only famous for trekking & Mt. Everest, but also its culture, art and architecture. The recorded history of Nepal begins form at least since 5th century AD. Innumerable historical sites, cities and monuments across the length and breadth of the country are there to testify the country’s rich cultural past.

There are also some museums where you can find thousands of years old concentrated culture on display under a single roof. The art of painting especially, best reflects the pure abundance of scenic natural landscapes and contemporary symbolic and non-symbolic compositions of Nepal. A visit to the art galleries of Kathmandu is a pleasurable and rewarding experience.

The Kathmandu Valley is not only the political and commercial centre of Nepal, but also a historic and cultural site that preserves ancient arts, architecture and cultural lifestyle. The Durbar Square areas contain countless temples and architectural showpieces. Cows wander free on the roads of the most streets of the old city, stepping between steaming piles of rubbish and hooting taxis, and narrow alleyways overflow with spices, vegetables and handicraft shops.

Nepalis are highly cultural people – with systematic & organized calendar for the rituals, ceremonies, festivals. Especially the Kathamandu Valley is famous for its own unique way of celebrating different Jatras or Festivals since the earliest history.  The distinct festivals of Nepal give a new dimension to Hindu & Buddhist religions.

Throngs of people thread their way along bustling cobblestone streets lined with structures from an ancient architectural heritage, which lead onto open squares surrounded by temples of all shapes and sizes.
